Bombardier Global 6000 Review: Cabin Layout, Range and Charter Price

The Bombardier Global 6000 entered service in 2012 as the updated Global XRS, and was succeeded by the Global 6500 in 2019. It is one of the most common long range jets on charter fleets in Europe and the Gulf, and one of the most popular large cabin aircraft on the pre-owned market.
Verdict: who the Global 6000 suits
The Global 6000 suits groups of 8 to 13 on flights of 6 to 12 hours who want three separate cabin areas and a real place to sleep. It flies Europe to the US East Coast, the Gulf to Europe, and Europe to most of Asia nonstop. It is usually a little cheaper to charter than a G650, which makes it one of the best value long range options.

Cabin layout and floor plan
The Global 6000 cabin is almost always arranged in three zones:
Forward club: four seats facing each other, behind the galley and forward lavatory
Conference or dining area: a table for four to six with a credenza opposite, which converts to beds
Aft stateroom or lounge: a divan or a fixed bed, with the main lavatory at the rear
Many aircraft also have a small crew rest area at the front. The cabin is wide and the floor flat, and the large baggage hold is reachable in flight, which helps on long trips with lots of luggage. As with every charter aircraft, ask for the floor plan of the specific aircraft offered.
Range in practice
With a typical executive load, the Global 6000 flies these nonstop:
London to New York (about 3,000 nm) and Geneva to New York (about 3,400 nm)
Dubai to London (about 2,950 nm) and Dubai to Paris (about 2,800 nm)
London to Johannesburg (about 4,900 nm)
London to Tokyo (about 5,200 nm), with a lighter load
Nairobi to London (about 3,700 nm)
Dubai to New York (about 5,950 nm) is right at the edge of its range and is better suited to a Global 6500, G650ER or G700.
Charter price per hour
The Global 6000 typically charters for around €11,000 to €15,000 per flight hour, usually a little below a G650 for the same trip. Positioning, crew overnights and peak dates come on top. A London to New York flight of about 7.5 hours typically lands between €85,000 and €115,000 all in, before positioning.
Buying a pre-owned Global 6000
Global 6000s trade widely. Indicatively, prices run from the mid teens of US$ millions for early aircraft to well over US$30 million for late, low hour examples.
