Private Jet Johannesburg to Mauritius

Flight time

4h05

From

$28,500

Johannesburg to Mauritius is about 3,100 km across the Indian Ocean, roughly four hours nonstop in a midsize or super midsize jet. It is one of the most popular island escapes from South Africa, and flying private lets you leave on your own schedule rather than around the limited airline timetable.

The Legacy 500, Challenger 350 and Falcon 2000LXS all cover the distance nonstop with a full cabin, giving you a stand-up cabin, a proper galley and room for resort luggage.

Empty legs on this route start from USD 28,500 one way, depending on aircraft, season and whether the aircraft waits on the island or flies home empty.

In Johannesburg, Lanseria is quick and quiet for the northern suburbs, and O.R. Tambo gives the longest runway if you are flying a heavier aircraft with full fuel. Mauritius has one international airport, Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam in the south east of the island, with private terminal handling for business aviation.

From the airport, the resorts on the south and east coasts are 20 to 45 minutes by road, Le Morne in the south west is about an hour, and Grand Baie and the north coast take around an hour and a quarter. A helicopter turns any of these into a short scenic hop. The best weather runs from May to December; January to March is the warm, wet season, when tropical cyclones can occasionally disrupt flights.

We arrange fast-track arrival, chauffeured or helicopter transfers to your resort or villa, and bookings at the island's leading hotels, golf courses and restaurants. Catamaran days, deep-sea fishing and dive trips can be planned in advance.

South African school holidays, Easter and the December break are the busiest periods, and the best resorts fill early. We suggest securing both the aircraft and your accommodation six to eight weeks ahead for those dates.

Every quote comes back within the hour, 24/7, with the specific aircraft and its tail number, the all-in price and a clear note of what is included: handling, landing, overwater equipment and crew costs are stated upfront.

For a week-long stay, the main price decision is whether the aircraft waits in Mauritius or flies home and returns to collect you. For a few days, waiting is usually cheaper; for a longer stay, two positioning flights can cost less than parking and crew hotels. We price both options so you can compare. We confirm the operator's ARGUS or Wyvern safety rating in the quote.
