Private Jet to Dubai and Abu Dhabi: Winter Season 2026/27
Updated: Sep 26

The Gulf private aviation season runs from November to March, when the weather is at its best and the events calendar is at its fullest. Dubai has three usable arrival options and Abu Dhabi has a dedicated business aviation airport. From London the sector is just under seven hours, from 49,000 euros; from Zurich it is around six hours forty.
When the season actually peaks
November through March, with the sharpest demand from mid-December to early February. Two things drive it: the weather turns genuinely pleasant, and the events calendar concentrates, with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the Dubai racing season, and a dense run of conferences and art fairs. Add the European ski exodus travelling in the opposite direction and the result is a corridor that is busy both ways at once, which is unusual and keeps availability tighter than the raw demand suggests.
Which airport
Al Maktoum, DWC, is the main business aviation choice for Dubai. It is purpose-built and quick on the ground, and it sits further from the city than the alternative.
Dubai International, DXB, is closer to Downtown and DIFC, but you are sharing the field with one of the busiest commercial operations in the world, and at peak times that shows.
Sharjah is the pressure valve, and worth considering on peak dates when Dubai parking is full.
Al Bateen in Abu Dhabi is business aviation only, with no commercial traffic at all, and gives the fastest arrival experience in the UAE. If Abu Dhabi is your destination, this is the answer.
The Gulf weekend, and why it changes your quote
The UAE working week now runs Monday to Friday, with the weekend on Saturday and Sunday, but Saudi Arabia and Qatar still work Sunday to Thursday, so a great deal of intra-Gulf business travel still clusters around Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings. If your dates are flexible by a day, moving off those two windows is one of the few reliable ways to reduce the number, and more reliable than changing aircraft type.
Getting there, and what it costs
From London the sector is just under seven hours, from 49,000 euros. From Paris it is six hours thirty, from 45,000 euros. Zurich to Dubai runs six hours forty in the other direction, from 52,000 US dollars. Aircraft in the G550, Global 6000 and Falcon 2000LXS class cover all three comfortably.
Onward from Dubai, the same aircraft frequently continues to the Maldives, Oman or India. Building that into a single itinerary is usually cheaper than treating it as two separate charters, and it is worth telling us the whole plan rather than the first leg.
Frequently asked questions
When is the best time to fly private to Dubai?
November to March. December and January are the peak, both for weather and for the events calendar.
Which Dubai airport should I use?
Al Maktoum for the fastest business aviation handling, Dubai International if proximity to Downtown or DIFC matters more, and Sharjah as an overflow on peak dates.
How far ahead should I book for the Gulf winter season?
Three to four weeks in normal periods. For the Grand Prix weekend and the Christmas to New Year window, six to eight.
Can I continue to the Maldives from Dubai?
Yes, and it is a common pairing. Dubai to Male is around four hours ten, and is usually better priced as part of one itinerary than as a separate booking.
What about Zanzibar or the Seychelles?
Both are easy additions from the UAE. Dubai to the Seychelles is a little over four hours and Dubai to Zanzibar about five, both nonstop in a super midsize jet. See Dubai to the Seychelles and Dubai to Zanzibar for aircraft and prices.
